Enrichment

To effectively prepare children for the next stage of their education and their future lives, we believe it is essential for them to understand their place in the world and the diverse individuals they share it with. We aim to foster positive relationships and a strong sense of community by encouraging children to be open-minded, respectful, and accepting of others. Children come to our school with a vast range of lived experiences and ee see it as our role to give children an array of experiences that develop their Cultural Capital and enable them to develop new interests and passions.

At Windmill, we believe in offering a wide range of enrichment opportunities that empower pupils to grow academically, socially, and personally.

We enrich the experiences of our pupils in many ways.As a Rights Respecting School, we foster an environment where pupils understand and advocate for their rights, while also learning to respect the rights of others. Leadership opportunities are offered to children with roles such as peer mentors, eco committee members, school council representatives and librarians providing students with valuable responsibilities and a chance to lead by example.

Our Houses system promotes teamwork, friendly competition, and school spirit, encouraging students to support one another and celebrate achievements. Pupils can also get involved in a variety of clubs that cater to a wide array of interests, from sports and arts to STEM and beyond. Throughout the year, we offer exciting trips and welcoming visitors that enrich the curriculum, broaden horizons, and inspire lifelong learning. These opportunities allow our children to thrive and develop the skills they need to become confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens.
