Year 1 3D Animals

In Year 1 Starling Class our curriculum enhancement has been focused on art and we have been concentrating on making 3D animals from air dry clay.

 

We started off with a prototype made out of playdough and tried to paint it, carefully choosing our colours.

 

We then had a go at using proper clay to make our final project. We learnt how to make sure different pieces of clay can be moulded together and how to create a much more stable structure. We also used water to smooth the surfaces and clay tools to add details to the animals' bodies.
