What Have Year 6 Been Up To?

In Year 6 Red Kite Class we have been extremely busy learning songs, lines and stage directions for our performance of Macbeth. The children are enjoying every minute of being on stage and have taken the extra responsibility of creating props, designing costumes and making backdrops too.

For Sky Arts Week, we looked at images and how they can connect to our emotions. The children had a go at taking images, using iPads and cameras, that can convey an emotion, there has been some fantastic creativity on showcase. The class took control of how they wished to display their work for Friday's showcase, coming up with excellent ideas to make their displays interactive for parents.

In maths, we have been practising unit conversion. We have had a lot of fun trying to estimate different distances in metres on the MUGA; measuring the smallest objects we could find (even including ants!) and converting the length between millimetres, centimetres and metres. It has been a lot of fun and a lovely way to ease back into maths lessons after SATs.
