Fun and Learning - Windmill Nursery
Nursery have had a busy few weeks enjoying lots of opportunities to learn and play.
As part of our wider curriculum, we talked about bonfire and firework night and how to stay safe when using sparklers. We enjoyed watching fireworks on the interactive whiteboard and created our own firework pictures for display. We have now moved on to learning about our community and what a community is. We had lots of fun creating our own community using small world blocks, houses, people, vehicles and trees. During discovery time, we created a bus using crates and tyres, using it to travel to different places in our community.
As part of our maths learning, we have focused on creating simple ABAB style patterns and recognising when we have zero or one of something. We love learning our number song of the week, and our latest favourite is '5 Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed'.
In phonics, we are continuing to develop our listening skills, tuning into environmental and musical sounds. We are also beginning to think about rhythm and rhyme through sharing rhyming stories and tapping out the rhythm to familiar nursery rhymes whilst singing.
As December fast approaches, we are looking forward to engaging in lots of festive activities together. We hope that you enjoy looking at our recent photos.
