Year 3 Become Paleontologists For The Day
Children in Year 3 are currently working as petrologists and are looking at different samples of rocks and soils. We are studying these items to learn how scientists and paleontologist gather information about the past. We completed observational drawings and annotations to describe the differences between the rocks and heighted the properties.
We learnt that the rocks are divided in three main types: igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Children had to work in small groups to try to identify each rock and explain why the chose that particular classification.
